In 1985 I traded my 1984 Honda 1000 Interceptor on a new 1985 VMax. When I first drove it away I felt I had made a mistake. But within half an hour I realized that the Max handled better than my Honda. It is a well balanced bike with a low center of gravity with the help of the tank being mounted low under your seat. With the Honda, if I drove the bike to an empty tank of gas and then filled up, you had to be very careful at first in the corners because of the extra weight of the full tank again.
Well I have bought another Max. The 2005 that is #235 out of 2000. In Canada they are limited to just over 100 units available. The Max may not be the fastest anymore but it is still a very quick bike. In town it gives you lots of fun with its instant acceleration. Stop light to stop light is where it is the most fun.
Upgrades/Accessories: I will be leaving it totally stock as to keep its limited edition intact. Changes to a limited edition usually take away from its value years down the road. To a true collector an original all stock bike is what they look for.
