Denver, Co - Team Green™ racer Darcy Lange clinched his second consecutive championship in the National Arenacross Series this weekend when he collected the remaining points he needed to wrap-up the title.
With one round still remaining in the 10-round series, Lange clinched the title early at the Pepsi Center in Denver when he won the Friday night 125 Pro main event on his four-stroke KX™250F motorcycle. Lange then secured second in the 250 Pro main on his two-stroke KX250. The following night, he took second in both the 125 Pro and 250 Pro main events.
Lange has dominated the national series with 24 wins thus far, and in the process, has given the KX250F its second consecutive Arenacross title. His 2005 crown also marks the first national championship for the new 2005 KX250.
“Darcy has been virtually unstoppable this year, and Kawasaki is excited that he’s been able to earn titles aboard both of our premier competition motocross bikes,” said Reid Nordin, manager, Team Green. “His dominance proves that the KX250F and KX250 are truly leading-edge motorcycles that are second to none.”
Lange has been shadowed much of the season by teammate Jeff Northrop, who is currently second in the points standings. Northrop hopes to secure the runner-up position at the last round in Columbus, Ohio.
