Las Vegas, NV - Yamaha Factory racer Chad Reed hit the jackpot his first race on the new aluminum-framed Yamaha YZ250 at the US OPEN. For the second consecutive year, Reed checked out of the Las Vegas MGM Grand with $100,000 and US Open Championship.
Reed, immediately comfortable on his YZ, carved inside lines and seemingly floated above the treacherous whoop sections on the infamously tight US Open track en route to the coveted title. The win is another confidence boost for Reed as he prepares to defend the AMA Supercross Championship at Anaheim Stadium on January 8th, 2005.
